Best Dressed of the Week: Gwyneth Paltrow
So of course it had to be Gwyneth Paltrow. Her style has just been amazing. I love her hair cut. Very cute. And don’t get me started on the shoes.
Ahh the igniting of my love of Gwyneth’s shoes all started when she wore these Pachinni platform shoes.
I really love her style nowadays

At the Iron Man Rome photocall in a black Preen dress
I loved this dress because it hugged all the right places
Showed off her amazing legs
And just look at those heels!!
Ahhh love!

In a fish scale Jean Paul Gaultier one-shouldered dress
For me no one can do it like Marion
But Gwyneth places a close second

Even on an off day her style is still great.
And check out the Guiseppe Zanotti gold gladiator sandals.

My best dressed of the week also appears on the cover of the May issue of US Vogue wearing a gold, tissue-lame embroidered Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2008.
“I simplify everything,” Ms. Paltrow tells Vogue on juggling her kids, career and husband, Chris Martin.
She also opens up about her postpartum depression.
“You know, I had postnatal depression after [my second child] Moses,” Gwyn says. “I didn’t know I had it until after it was over. I just didn’t know what was wrong with me … I felt really out of my body. I felt really disconnected. I felt really down; I felt pessemistic.”
Gwyneth is resting her elbow on an Iron Man mask.
The movie opens in theaters on May 2nd.
Can’t wait.
Inside Scoop: 55DSL
The line was created as a spin-off from the popular brand, Diesel. My first reaction to it was surfer meets skater meets teen brand. Not a bad thing. Living in Barbados and going to the beach often has an impact on my choice of clothing. I was very excited to see this brand because I do sometimes wear these types of clothes and I have had the opportunity recently to wear the 55DSL clothing. I loved the fabric and how easily the clothes could be incorporated into my daily outfits.
Here’s some official info on 55DSL:
55DSL
“Live at least 55 seconds per day”
If there’s one word that sums up the 55DSL attitude, it is “fun”. If that sounds a bit over-the-top, consider the evidence. Created in 1994 as an experimental spin-off from Diesel, the brand rapidly established its own exuberant identity. Now a company in its own right, it both complements and defies its parent.
The line was originally inspired by radical sports – snow, surf and skate – and these remain anchored in its DNA. But as the brand grew, it embraced the fusion of sport and urban culture that is the foundation of today’s street style. Like its core 18-to-30-year-old customers, 55DSL is at home on a mountainside or in Manhattan; it moves effortlessly between skate-park and nightclub.
A look back at the brand’s evolution provides the clues to its current identity. Its very first collection was called Urban Jungle. Its now familiar angel logo appeared in its third collection, Cyber Winter in Mongolia, which stressed the snowboarding element. And in 1997 it created shorts and accessories for surfers. Over the years it has sponsored the likes of surfer Joel Tudor, skaters Tony Hawk and Steve Berra and snowboarder Lukas Huffman.
Thanks to this heritage, today’s 55DSL garments are designed to resist the toughest elements, while remaining aesthetically stunning. The company’s upbringing as part of the Diesel family guarantees an instinctive understanding of fashion. Total comfort, in our view, guarantees a relaxed attitude and an open mind.
And 55DSL is about the mind as well as the body: its consumers appreciate every aspect of urban culture, which is why the brand is heavily involved in art and music. As demonstrated by its provocative but good-humored advertising campaigns, 55DSL is keen on self-expression in all its forms.
In a world where social networking is an accepted part of urban lives, 55DSL promotes inclusiveness. From the laid-back look of its stores to its unrestrictive, wearable clothes, it aims for maximal comfort and minimal fuss. Consider what happens on the edge of a ski slope or a dance floor: it’s all about camaraderie. The participants may consider themselves radical free-thinkers, but they’re rebelling together. This is not an elite club: you just have to get it to get in.
In a way, the company has a pact with its consumers. They provide their loyalty, and 55DSL provides tools that help them enjoy their lives to the full. Our slogan sums it up: “Live at least 55 seconds per day.” Life moves pretty fast, so grab a slice while you can. It’s not rocket science, but it makes sense to us.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post and I hope you will check out 55DSL.

Tag!!! You’re It
I was tagged by Aschlee over at Fashion Frappe and Jennifer at A Little Bag Obsessed.
Here are the rules.
1. Link the person who tagged you.
2. Mention the rules in your blog.
3. Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours.
4. Tag 6 following bloggers by linking them.
5. Leave a comment on each of the tagged blogger’s blogs letting them know they’ve been tagged.
Ok well, let’s see, my quirks…hmmm….
1) I love subtitles. I watch all my movies with subtitles. It’s just my thing.
2) I read my magazines from back to front. My boyfriend freaks out when I do it. He says I’m ruining it. How am I ruining it? I read everything in my own time.
3) Bugs totally creep me out. I mean really creep me out.
4) I collect recipes. 3/4 of them I haven’t even tried, but I keep saying one day I might need this. One day…
5) I have a tendency to randomly sing aloud. It is definitely random. Someone could just say a word I will remember a song with that word in it. My mum hates it.
6) I have watched every single episode of Sailor Moon. An anime that I loved watching when I was a kid. Found the episodes on youtube and the rest is history.
Your turn. I am definitely interesting in finding out yours.

Interview with Dress Forms. Pins. And Needles
I recently had the pleasure of sending some questions to my fellow blogger, the wonderful Miss Kiki over at Dress Forms Pins And Needles and she graciously answered them. Be on the lookout readers for you, yes you, will also be highlighted. You never know when I will spring it on you so be prepared. *insert evil laugh here* Enough of my craziness; on to the interview.
Name/Blogger Nic: Kiki
Blog Name: Dress Forms. Pins. And Needles
Age: Between 3 1/2 and 103
Country: United States
Why did you start your blog?
To tell you the truth, I really only started it so I wouldn’t have to leave anonymous comments but then I started to enjoy it. I had a blog before but it was a bust and I didn’t really know what to do with it. I put more time and effort into Dress Forms so I think that is why it is a success, at least I think so
What inspires you?
I think people inspire me. I love going on the street and seeing people showing their style in a candid way. Although in my town it’s mostly Abercombie and Holister! So my inspiration lately comes from clothes themselves. You can see a great pair of shoes or a great top and think wow, this and this would go great together and then you are inspired well at least I am. LOL.
Favourite designer(s):
My all time favourite designer hands down is Christian Dior but Chanel comes in a close second.
Top 10 favourite/ must-have items:
In no particular order
. My Ipod
. My cellphone
. My covergirl compact
. My contacts
. Curl X gel hydrating something or other
. A good book (Harry Potter ranks supreme)
. My computer
. Softlips or chapstick lipbalm
. Hair Straightener
. My old avon comb
As for unmaterialistic things, my family and friends.
What’s your best purchase?
I don’t really have one. Maybe my first Dooney and Bourke. It was in, the it style and was very tiny, a little flap wristlet. It was $50. I remember thinking this is ridiculous but I bought it and still use it today.
Describe your personal style.
I am always put together, but I love jeans with dressy shirts. You probably would never see me in a plain t-shirt because I don’t really like the shape of them. I am more of a babydoll top and polo type person although I am not very preppy. I love old Hollywood glamour so I try to incorporate that in with my own everyday style. For instance, yesterday I had on dark wash jeans, an almost silk material green stripe tank top and a white cardigan with huge buttons on it. So I guess that shows my style the most. I like simple but impressionable pieces and putting them together.
When did you start to develop your sense of style?
Probably around 10. My mom dressed me until then. Even though I was still trying to work out the quirks. I had always worn uniforms, so when I started public school I didn’t really know what to wear so I mainly stuck to jeans. But now I would say I have a sense of style that almost no one around me has, which is great because I will never me caught in the same thing as someone. =)
What are your fayourite stores?
Target, Urban Outfitters, Old Navy, Anthropologie and the list goes on and on. If it’s a store, I will like it. I remember when I went through the limted to phase… Good times.
What fashion rule do you live by?
Well not the whole white after labour day. I always do the take off the last thing I put on when accessorising. So I guess, keep it simple and eloquent to keep from going overboard beacuse keeping it simple can sometimes make a real statement but do go crazy at times.
Thanks alot to Kiki for being my first interviewee.
Hope you guys enjoyed it and make sure you visit her site
Peace and love

Style File: Leighton Meester
Hey guys, I’m back. This is my first ever style file post so it might be a little rough. Lol.
Ok admission time. I have yet to watch a single episode of Gossip Girls. *Gasp* I know right. I missed the first couple of episodes and every time I see photos of the cast, it just reminds me that I have yet to watch it. I really want to watch it from the beginning.
So anyways, I have really been loving Leighton Meester’s style as of late. It’s simple and chic. Which is by far a contrast to her Gossip Girl style. Her character opts for lots of layering (probably they were filiming in the fall/winter). Her GG closet is definitely enviable. So now onto the pictures.
